Stage V Pressure Ulcer
Patient’s Stage V pressure ulcer after months of wound care treatment – without success. Wound care treatment was halted and patient’s ankle was placed into the Ankle Cradle 18-20 hours per day.
After twenty days of using the Ankle Cradle and Knee Support System, the Pressure Ulcer is virtually gone & the patient can walk again. The results are clear and amazing!!
Constructed of open-cell foam that creates a safe, comfortable resting cradle for the knees and ankles during any type of surgical or interventional cardiology procedure where the patient is supine for more than 30 minutes. The system is also invaluable during long-term stays for immobile patients.
This comfortable Ankle Cradle™ can easily be moved with the patient onto the transport gurney to PACU or any hospital bed. Once the patient is repositioned for recovery, their ankles can continue to be supported in the Ankle Cradle™, allowing for a more comfortable recovery.
Using a simple yet unique design, our innovative system elevates the patient’s heels over the forward edge, giving necessary freedom and protection from heel pressure ulcers associated with laying in a static position on an OR or Cath Lab table, or any other bed within an acute care or long-term care setting.
The Knee Support portion also elevates the patient’s knees and provides enhanced, angled access to the femoral vascular system. Additionally, should the patient require a urinary catheter to be inserted for the procedure, the flexible tubing can slide unrestricted, under the patient’s thigh & drop directly down to the collection bag.
This is a huge improvement to the current & conventional situation of looping the urinary tubing over the patient’s quad (which can cause urine back-flow).
The Ankle Cradle and Knee Support System is remarkably inexpensive, simple and yet so effective, it will truly revolutionize the comfort and safety of all supine patients in the OR or Cath Lab.
The small size is intended for pediatrics and adolescents, medium for teens and mid-sized adults, and large for larger patients.
This fully patented & thoughtfully designed product saves time during patient care because it’s so simple to use. Just lift the patient’s knees onto the soft foam support and then position the ankles into any of the four positions available.
